On December 13, Gustavo’s next debut is already on the schedule: With the Philharmonia Zürich, the orchestra of the Zürich opera, he conducts a programme containing works by Igor Stravinsky, Piotr Tchaikovsky and Sergei Prokofiev.
Featuring violinist Baiba Skride, Tchaikovsky’s famous violin concerto, the „Concerto in D“ for string orchestra by Stravinsky and Prokofiev’s fifth Symphony, all provide the Philharmonia with many opportunities to prove why it has been elected „Orchestra of the year“ by German magazine Opernwelt and is counted amongst the best orchestras of Europe.
