On April 5, Gustavo’s new CD will be released – together with the Orchestre Philharmonique du Luxembourg he has recorded Rossini’s Petite Messe solenelle (1863-1867). Rossini’s mysterious but entertaining mass displays his rich musical palette, which encompassed references to Bach, Haydn and Mozart as well as to Fauré and Poulenc. Perfect material for a team as versatile as Gustavo and his orchestra, this being the latest iteration of their ongoing and celebrated series of composer portraits on Pentatone.
