Gustavo Gimeno, Jean-Guihen Queyras and Luxembourg Philharmonie: Lutoslawski-Bloch

Once again joining forces with Harmonia Mundi, Gustavo Gimeno, Luxembourg Philharmonie and cellist Jean-Guihen Queyras release an album of Lutoslawski’s Concerto for Orchestra and Concerto for Cello and Orchestra, as well as Bloch’s Schelomo on May 15, 2026.
From the lyricism of Bloch’s Schelomo to the modernity of Lutosławski’s Cello Concerto, Jean-Guihen Queyras and Gustavo Gimeno explore the cello’s vocal qualities, ranging through prayers, cries and whispers. In response, the Polish composer’s Concerto for Orchestra is a celebration of collective vitality and exuberance. A voyage of discovery, from an inward song to an outburst of orchestral energy.
