In a concert season marked by conducting debuts with some of the world’s most renowned orchestras, such as the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, the Philharmonia Zürich, the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra or the Orchestre National de France, a special debut is already taking place at its very beginning: On 16 September, Gustavo Gimeno will direct his first concert with the Staatskapelle Dresden.
For the first „Aufführungsabend“ with the Staatskapelle, Gustavo conducts works by the current „Capell-Compositeur“ György Kurtág as well as compositions by Györgi Ligeti and Joseph Haydn, once more showing his wide interest in repertoire, this time ranging from 19th century-composer Haydn to contemporary musicians Ligeti and Kurtág.
